Abby's 80's Party

Abby had a 80's sleepover birthday party this year with a few of her closest friends. Jo and I felt very old as we saw the anthems of our generation treated as if they were relics of some ancient civilization. I guess it's very hard to compete with Hannah Montana these days. The kids had a great time and two songs from the night actually left enough of an impression to warrant requested additions to Abby and Alex's Ipod playlists: Karma Chameleon by The Culture Club and Jump by Van Halen. Go figure.

Shiver me Timbers

We took a "Pirate Cruise" today with Nanna and the kids. We all made it back without walking the plank.

Clearwater Beach

Jo and I had a business meeting in Clearwater Florida this week. We tacked a couple of days vacation at the end and went to the beach.

Dance Recital

It's that time of year again. Nanna and Poppa made it for another recital. Fun was had by all as usual. We are looking forward to 2 months without dance practices 3-4 times a week however.

Abby had her softball pictures today. This is the 5th year for her and my 5th as a coach.

Cowboy Camp

Abby and Alex spent the week at Cowboy Camp. They learned various cowboy type things and participated in the rodeo show today.

The New Shed

I finally bit the bullet and conceded that I was not going to find the time to build a shed myself. We hired someone to build it. We now have to sort through the vast piles of junk in our garage and transfer the stuff we are keeping back to the shed. We probably need to hire some help for that task also.

Slip, Slide n' Away

Aaron, Lisa and Morgan made the long trip South from NY to spend some time at tht Koons Resort. The kids had a great time together.

Chichen Itza

We decided to expose the kids to a little culture and struck out for the Myan Ruins at Chichen Itza. The adults were impressed and the kids were hot and sweaty.

Dolphin Encounter

The kids swam with the dolphins in Cozumel. Grace had a few moments of uncertainty and came running out of the pool crying. She did return and manage to let the dolphin kiss her.

We set sail for the Caribbean today. We will be spending the next five days eating more than any human should. Grandma and Nanna are along for the fun this time.

The New School

The kid's new school is coming along pretty well. They are still telling us it will be ready for the beginning of next school year in August. That date will mark the three year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina when our school and church were destroyed. We are ready to move out of the converted roller rink.
